Vacation Bible Schools

Many churches in this part of Jamaica have minimal to no children's programs. The response is astounding when IS68 sends a team to conduct a Vacation Bible School (VBS).

There are many communities that have never had a VBS. The few VBS's conducted outside of IS68 are very infrequent. For the hundreds of children IS68 has served through VBS's, many have lasting impressions and summer memories they DO NOT forget.

IS68 is very mobile with its VBS's and provides them in many remote locations. Current efforts include conducting the VBS and training key local individuals while doing so, then we leave the key people with materials and instruction guides so that they can conduct their own VBS's in the future.

We have had some success in getting churches to do this when we are targeting other areas or when we are not on the island. Occasionally, a little financial support for food or giving them some crafts is all it takes to make these VBS's possible.
