Church and Men's Ministries
|
Over the years as we have grown tin Christ, we have become more aware that while many of the pastors in Jamaica are certainly Spirit-filled and Spirit-led, they do not have the access to the quality Christian teaching we receive in our churches. So, with God's help, we can share different insights and biblical knowledge with the pastors and their congregations. So, we are making ourselves more available to support the pastors and congregations when asked.
Also, we have noticed for years, that men are rare in churches, there are few marriages, and few men are present in the homes. So, we have begun a men's fellowship in the Wheelerfield community, a community with extremely high unemployment, a lot of poverty, hunger, and many children. We have rehabilitated a community center, furnished it with pews, and with electricity. Men who refuse to go to church are now attending this men's fellowship and Bible study in a non-church setting. Recently, God sent 3 pastors to conduct weekly Thursday night sessions there. We recently started this with a weeklong event. God has blessed this greatly! In January 2020, we attended and preached at a church with 45 people, only 3 of which were men (one was the pastor). The next Friday, we had 25 men and 15 male youth in our men's fellowship and Bible study. Only God can do this! |
